Adventure Multi-activity holidays

An exciting week with 4 full-days and 1 half-day of activities. This is an action-packed holiday designed to keep you moving. Activities include canyoning, adventure caving, rock-climbing, rafting, hiking and tree-top adventure park.

Who is this for?

Our "Adventure" multi activity holidays are aimed at lovers of the outdoors, who are just not happy sitting still. This way you can discover the Pyrenees mountains from every angle - on land and in the water, above and underground. We’ve selected a range of activities to keep you on your toes all week but with time to relax and catch your breath before you head out again for another adventure.

Pyrenees Canyoning

Accommodation

This week you’ll have two accommodation choices in the traditional French mountain village of Barèges, either our 3-star catered chalet or our 3-star hotel.

Both are of a high standard, providing amenities to help you relax after your day’s activities, including filling meals.

What will you do?

This is a typical week’s itinerary for an Adventure Pyrenees multi-activity week.

St. Justin creperie

Saturday - arrival

Arrive late afternoon. We suggest a leisurely 45 minute stroll to the creperie at St Justin where you can enjoy a traditional French snack in the sunshine. The restaurant is on an isolated promontory looking out onto the lovely Bastan valley, the village of Barèges and the towering mountains on every side - it can only be accessed on foot and has wonderful views.

Walking in the Cirque de Troumouse

Sunday – guided day hike

You'll be spoiled for choice with such a variety of spectacular walking in this area. We suggest a local classic - the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Cirque de Gavarnie.

Canyon Slide

Monday – Canyoning

One of our favourite activities, canyoning is an all-round adventure involving jumping, sliding, swimming and sliding your way along waterfalls, tunnels and pools in a racing mountain stream.

Rock climbing in the Pyrenees - July 2011

Tuesday – rock-climbing

We head to the beautiful Neouvielle Nature Reserve, the Lake District of the Pyrenees, with a UIAGM high mountain guide to tackle the granite slabs and crags above the Glere lakes.

Pic du Midi terrasse

Wednesday – free day

This is your free day to use as you please.

Pyrenees Caving

Thursday - Caving

Today's caving is anything but a tourist trip.

Chlorofil tree-top park

Friday – morning rafting, afternoon Chlorofil treetop park

An action-packed day with a morning rafting on the rushing Gave de Pau river. Then, after a picnic lunch beside the river, we make like apes at Chlorofil.

Saturday – time to leave

After an action packed week, we leave for the airport in the morning, ready to head home.

An important note about multi-activity holidays

This is an example itinerary for an "Adventure" multi-activity holiday in the Pyrenees.

Our programme is completely flexible and we can offer tailored holidays with your own choice and number of activities.

Our price for the above multi-activity holiday is 750 - 975 euros per person (depending on your itinerary), with a 50 euro per person discount available for 3 or more sharing a family bedroom in the chalet or a standard room in Hotel du Tourmalet.

This includes all activities with qualified guides, equipment hire, local transport, food and accommodation. You must have your own insurance to cover these activities. The price may vary if you select your own activities. Please consult our glossary of activities for more ideas.

Some activities are weather dependent and may be changed at short notice. We will always offer you an alternative activity, such as more guided walking (e.g the beautiful Neouvielle lakes tour with an optional swim in a chilly mountain lake), horse riding, mountain biking and attractions such as the showcaves at Betharam, the Pic du Midi observatory, the Pic de Jer funicular and the town of Lourdes.

Now choose your multi-activity dates from our calendar, then contact us to book.
